The BodyICE Woman perineum strip has been purposely designed to treat the perineal area pre and post childbirth.
When heated, the perineum strip can be effectively used during the 2nd stage of labour to help reduce the occurrence of perineal trauma.
When frozen, the perineum strip provides soothing, cooling relief to the perineal area which may be irritated, swollen and tender from childbirth.
It can also be used to treat Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) as well as haemorrhoids.
Whatever your needs are, the BodyICE Woman perineum strip has got you covered pre and post-labour.
HOW CAN THE BODYICE PERINEUM STRIP HELP ME?
Giving birth puts a lot of strain on your body, particularly in the perineal area. Using an iced perineum strip can bring soothing relief to your perineum, an area that often becomes sore, tender and uncomfortable after delivery. After all, it must stretch in order to allow the baby to come into the world! Many women experience a perineal tear or have had an episiotomy (a cut performed to allow the baby to exit more quickly), which often leaves the perineum swollen and sore and in need of stitches.
Along with offering cooling relief, these clever strips can also be used heated and can help you throughout your pregnancy and during labour.
Our peri strips can also bring you relief from the painful condition called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) or haemorrhoids.
In order to prevent perineal trauma, you can also heat (or get someone else to heat!) your BodyICE perineal strip when you are in the second stage of labour (when you are fully dilated). The warmth placed on your perineum will help relax and soften the area before your baby is born.
Likewise, if you are planning on using perineal massage in preparation for labour, using BodyICE strips heated can help prepare the perineum for massage by helping the muscles to relax and encouraging them to stretch. Perineal massage is often used because it allows your vagina to become more flexible and can help to minimise the risk of tearing or the need for an episiotomy.
